The easiest, most efficient way to get from JFK into Manhattan is the AirTrain. Don't be intimidated: you'll be able to follow these directions easily!

After getting off your plane at JFK, you'll see signs to follow in each of the terminals to the AirTrain platform.
Most likely, you'll choose the track toward Jamaica Station.
The AirTrain makes stops along the way at the airport, before traveling through Queens and arriving at Jamaica Station.
The video shows how to use the ticket kiosks to buy you $8 to leave the AirTrain in Jamaica.
From here, you can choose either the subway or the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to get into Manhattan (or Brooklyn).
In this video, we'll take the railroad to Penn Station. You can also take the LIRR to Grand Central Station.
