This video tells a few quick tips to be more successful at catching hybrids in the summer months. Basic rule of thumb that works for me in the summer time is fish shallow on top of structure can be tricked while fish on the deeper side of the same structure can be caught with shad. "Shallow: Trick them. Deep: Feed them." So you have a few options....if you want to only use artificial bait then have several spots that you check that are on top of structure and just bounce back and forth until you find shallow fish. I like to usually show up to the lake with shad and my downriggers. Whatever pattern I find at the time I scan the structure dictates my approach at that moment. This gives me a variety of tactics and helps me consistently put more fish at the end of my line. I hope this helps!
