BASS.

I wrote the bassline by playing it in the first place, so I never had a worry there, but this was one of the most difficult tracks on the album from a production standpoint because I tend to feel out of my depth with the more synthy/electronic-leaning tracks. I changed my mind like 4 times on how I would do the drums, because I thought maybe I wanted to go even more electronic with it, but ultimately felt the GGD kit I'm using everywhere else still fit in really well, but that's how Carbon is in the MIDI anyway, acoustic drums with a synth kick for added punch. I also thought I was gonna go a bit out there with the bass tone but didn't really get any good results and just settled for a basic clean sound, again just like the MIDI.

I quite like how the bowed pads from the MIDI have carried over, Carbon as a whole was inspired by "Drill" from Command & Conquer, and this particular synth sound feels like a nice little nod to that as it's quite a similar sound to the equivalent part in that track.
