To find the length of a flowing garment:
Place the tape measure at the smallest part of your waist and measure the length that you want the garment to finish at. Include the height of the shoes that you would like to wear with the garment.

To find the length of a fitted garment:
Measure from the smallest part of your waist, to the point at which you would like the garment to finish.
