11/2 glass iddli rice
1 cup greated coconut
yeast 1/4 teasponn
sugar 3/4 teaspoon

soak 1/2 glass iddli rice in water for about 4 hours, add 1 cup greated coconut and water then grind the rice into a smooth paste, then we need to prepare KAPPI, for that take one ladle of grinded paste and add one glass of water and cook this mix on low flame till it became a thick paste. let it cool and by that time prepare the yeast (mix 1/4 th teaspoon yeast, 3/4 th tsp sugar and luke warm water) now add and mix the yeast mix and cooled KAPPI in to the grinded rice mix. then leave it for about 8-10 hours for fermentation. after fermentation add salt and mix well and make the appams.
