The Sawmill Canyon Project Has been in the planning stage for many years. 2023 finally kicked off the start of a wide range of improvements in the area. In June we helped put in a restrictor gate and 180 ft. of Jack Fence at the bottom of Bull Creek to keep the ATVs and UTVs off this single-track trail. We also did a couple of reroutes on Bear Creek to help a couple of muddy meadows heal. In August we helped put in a restrictor gate and 500 ft of Jack Fence at Smithie Cabin, added a new trail to make a loop to the Cabin and removed user made trails through a meadow for big game habitat. In September we helped install over 1000 ft. of Jack Fence, built a new trail around a large meadow, and removed the old trail for big game habitat. All three weekends were sponsored by local outdoor groups and the work was done by Volunteers.
