A jazz guitar arrangement of “Glass Onion” by The Beatles, written by John Lennon. “Glass Onion” was originally released on the The Beatles (The White Album) LP in 1968.

Back with my band of clones to tackle my favorite The Beatles song! Quite a lot of reharmonization going on in this, just to make the song even stranger. Since the melody is very much based on A blues scale lick, there are a lot of ways to harmonize it.

I started by harmonizing the first part of the A section by using chords that are a minor third apart (Am to Cm), followed by the reverse of that with F7 moving to D7, before I go through a few more traditional jazz chord progressions. A lot of Hendrix inspired tones through my D’Angelico, having a more rock driven sound to contrast the past few solo jazz guitar arrangements.

I'm playing it on my D’Angelico EX-SS with Lollar Imperial humbuckers through a Fender Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster.I string my D’Angelico EX-SS with D’Addario EPN115. The pick I use is a BlueChip BC Jazz 60 guitar pick.
