The police, meant to protect citizens, are now becoming a source of fear. A shocking incident from Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh, has exposed a dark reality where those in uniform allegedly turned criminals themselves.

A college student was reportedly picked up from a bus by a Sub-Inspector and other police personnel, illegally detained for six hours, brutally assaulted, and falsely framed in a drug case after refusing to pay a bribe. The incident has shaken public trust and raised serious questions about police accountability.

As the investigation progressed, even the Superintendent of Police appeared in court and admitted wrongdoing, leading to the suspension of the accused officers. But the damage was already done — the student, once preparing for civil services, is now battling severe mental trauma and fear.

This is not an isolated incident. Official data reveals that over 300 criminal cases have been registered against Madhya Pradesh Police in the last two years, including custodial violence, corruption, and abuse of power.
