I have done a lot of DIY tubeless conversions using Tesa 4289 tape and had varied results. These 2bliss strips are £5 per strip but saves a lot of hassle, allows for tyre to be removed with less chance of damaging the strip/tape.
On this my first attempt it has sealed up with the tubeless pump first go and no signs of any leaks.

I can't say how this compares to other specific tubeless kits on the market but vs the Tesa option I perfer the 2bliss.

I have done the gorilla tape method in the past but that stuff leaves a lot of mess behind when you remove it.


It's recommend to go up 2mm on your rim width. My rims are 29mm wide so I went for the 31mm strips.
