4 Rare British Cars That Should’ve Been Remembered!

Four rare and nearly forgotten British sports cars that deserve way more attention than they ever got. These are not your average million-dollar supercars. Instead, they were built by small teams, often in tiny workshops, by people who just loved cars and wanted to make something fast and exciting. We're talking about the Warwick GT, the Gordon-Keeble GK1, the Turner GT, and the Clan Crusader. Each one had its own wild story, clever engineering, and surprising performance—but most people have never even heard of them.

First up is the Warwick GT, a car born from the leftovers of the Peerless GT. It had a fiberglass body, spaceframe chassis, and was powered by a Triumph TR3 engine. Only around 40 were ever made. It even had a version called the GT350 with a Buick V8 and racing history at Silverstone and Goodwood!

Next is the Gordon-Keeble GK1, a strange mix of American muscle and Italian design. It had a Chevy V8 under the hood, a body styled by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, and a tortoise on the badge! Fast and stylish, only about 100 were built before the company folded.

Then we look at the Turner GT, a closed-roof coupe from the Turner Sports Car Company. Jack Turner believed in lightweight design and built just 9 of these rare GTs. His cars raced and even beat Ferraris in the late ’50s and early ’60s.

Finally, the Clan Crusader came out in the 1970s. Built by ex-Lotus engineers in County Durham, it used Hillman Imp parts, had a fiberglass body, and was fun to drive—even if it wasn’t super fast. Later versions even had Alfa Romeo engines!
