Installing Front and Rear Dashcams in an Aston Martin DB9

Описание к видео Installing Front and Rear Dashcams in an Aston Martin DB9

I wanted to fit front and rear Dash cameras to my 2005 DB9 Coupe. Chaos sometimes occurs in life, and having an unbiased record of the event can often save the day (especially with your insurance). To be useful I wanted it to be as high resolution as possible, and to be as ‘factory integrated’ looking as I could make it. I am pretty happy with the results, and it’s something you’d be able to tackle in an afternoon in the garage after watching this video.

Background:
I wanted a camera setup that was really well integrated into the car. I didn’t want visible cables, cigarette lighter power adapters, all that sort of thing. I wanted both front and rear cameras. I wanted it to be very high resolution so that if needed I could zoom in and read license plates, etc. With today’s technology that equates to a 4K front camera and a full 1080p HD rear camera. I wanted the option to have the cameras run even when parked. I wanted cameras that were as small as possible and unobtrusive. Of course I wanted to be able to use a smart phone app to access the camera system.

After a ton of internet research and reading of reviews, I settled on a favorite I had already used in my Sweetie’s VW GTI for a few years to great success. I purchased a Thinkware U1000 Kit that included a 4K Front camera and HD Rear camera. I got the kit from BlackBoxMyCar.com.
