Cool down your hot carburetor with a wood spacer.

Our F100 is percolating the fuel in the float bowl and causing a hard start issue both in the mornings and after the truck has sat for an hour or so. We add a wood spacer to the carburetor to drop temps from the low 200s to the mid 100s with this simple fix. We get the benefit of it smoothing out off idle response as well.
