Devastating Floods Hit Indian State of Gujarat, At Least 32 Killed

The coastal state of Gujarat has been battered by floods triggered by heavy rain. At least 32 people have died, and 24,000 have been shifted to shelter camps. Due to the adverse conditions, several houses and buildings have been submerged, and the floods also caused severe traffic congestion in the state. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel arrived at the Gandhinagar State Emergency Operation Center on Thursday and held a high-level meeting. He also spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who advised him to take measures to prevent a disease outbreak following the floods. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi stated that the Chief Minister had given in-principle approval to the Vishwamitra River Revival and Redevelopment Project in Vadodara.
