Dark and Windy Chicago Night Walk: Wrigley Field to the Loop 4K

Yay! Cubs beat San Francisco Giants 5-2!

The game's over. We've filed out of Wrigley Field and for Gail and David, it will be a two hour-plus walk from Wrigleyville to the Congress Plaza Hotel on South Michigan Avenue in Chicago's Loop area. It is hard to imagine lively North Clark Avenue Street temporarily given over to pedestrian traffic with happy fans making their way south and aiming for the many, many after-game venues lining the street. Soon the crowds peter out to the quieter yet still busy streets as we make our way towards the Gold Coast and the Magnificent Mile (North Michigan Avenue). Along the way we pass the famous Madlener House and the Charnley-Persky House.

The route is quiet and the streets are dark. But we never felt in danger walking late at night. These are fairly well-to-do-neighbourhoods. So, if you feel the urge to take a 2 hour-plus walk to the Loop after a Chicago Cubs game, fear not. It is a well-recommended aprés-game adventure!
