The world is changing quickly. It's becoming more difficult to get a second passport and citizenship. I want to summarize some of these changes and then outline some options to get your second passport or to preserve more global flexibility and freedom.

Recently, we're seeing programs like Malta's Golden Passport and Spain's CBI program get shut down. And now, the US and EU are heavily considering placing visa-free travel bans on several Caribbean nations with popular CBI programs.

Not to mention, some routes for getting citizenship through descent are becoming more challenging as well.

I think this trend is likely to continue. This is why I encourage people to begin the process of citizenship by descent or to research their options now.

Personally, I wouldn't invest in most CBI programs right now. They might become much less valuable in the near future. But investing in some emerging markets or finding ways to get residency, real estate, or another passport elsewhere is a valuable thing to do. More options equals more freedom!
