Going once, going twice - 1st Hydrogen Bank Auction for RFNBO – Results and Lessons Learnt

Описание к видео Going once, going twice - 1st Hydrogen Bank Auction for RFNBO – Results and Lessons Learnt

The results of the first European Hydrogen Bank auction for the production of renewable hydrogen in Europe have been published: seven projects from across the European Economic Area were selected to receive between €8 million and €245 million each over a ten-year period to produce a total of 1.58 million tonnes of renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO).

During the webinar, we will take a closer look at the results – what they tell us about the emerging renewable hydrogen-based industry and what lessons we can learn for the next round of the hydrogen bank auction, which is expected to start before the end of the year.

Launched in 2022, the Hydrogen Bank is a financing instrument to create investment security and business opportunities for European and global renewable hydrogen production. Funding is awarded as a fixed price payment, a so-called premium subsidy, per kg of hydrogen produced to help bridging the price gap between current production costs and the price that offtakers of hydrogen are willing to pay.
