Israelis sceptical of ceasefire with Hezbollah: Former Israeli diplomat

Israel's security cabinet is discussing whether to approve a US-sponsored ceasefire deal.
That proposal reportedly involves Hezbollah withdrawing from southern Lebanon and monitors being put in place.

The proposed deal is based on UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the last major war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006. It requires Hezbollah to pull back about 30km (nearly 20 miles) from the Israeli border, behind the Litani River.

Alon Pinkas, a former ambassador and consul-general from Israel, says Israelis have “doubts” about a possible ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
