In 2019 the state closed a section of Route 8 in Ft. Thomas Kentucky because of mudslides and the road sliding over the hill. As of March 2021 the state has not decided to abandoned the road and buy the three houses on this section or repair the road. On my 2.5 mile walk I also seen a few pump stations that are still in use. The closed section connects Silver Grove to Dayton.
