Amazing 747 jumbo jet low pass over the Golden Gate, "Kai Tak" comment

Описание к видео Amazing 747 jumbo jet low pass over the Golden Gate, "Kai Tak" comment

Recorded during the San Francisco Fleet Week 2010, California, September 9th.

Please note that the Golden Gate is the strait that joins the San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean, and so the famous bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, is named after the strait. In this video, the airplane flew over the Golden Gate, the strait, and not the bridge itself, first heading southwest over Angel Island, then continuously turning left to cross the Golden Gate heading south, and eventually pointing eastwards when flying past the northern rim of the San Francisco city, when the video ends.

This was a planned maneuver for an air show. The airplane was well clear of the Golden Gate Bridge at all times. It was not dangerous. Identical flying with this plane type had been performed several hundreds of thousands of times in the past, namely on approach to Kai Tak airport, in Hong Kong. This low pass maneuver was performed four times, once per day, on recon, practice, and both airshow days.
