Nagdaos ng unang joint maritime exercises ang coast guards ng Pilipinas at Vietnam sa bukana ng West Philippine Sea.

Sa kanilang training, ipinakita ng dalawang puwersa ang koordinasyon sa pag-apula sa mga sunog sa dagat at pag-rescue sa mga biktima.
