The Pride of Barbados is a perennial and will die down and come back in the spring in most winters here in Texas and the Mexican Bird of Paradise is a small deciduous tree. Both are in the Caesalpinia family and have smaller leaves and brilliant #blooms.

The Pride of Barbados has showy orange and yellow blooms and the Mexican Bird of Paradise, a Texas native, has yellow beautiful blooms. Each are excellent options when planting #xeriscape gardens and landscapes.
