Samsara Offensive Fan Impromptu, Opus 2

This is an impromptu for the Samsara Offensive in Emma's Story (https://archiveofourown.org/series/72..., a spin-off of To the Stars (https://archiveofourown.org/works/777...) I guess. Again. The gist of the Samsara Offensive is that the technologically-superior alien Cephalopods are launching an ambitious assault, carving a path of destruction towards the planet of Samsara, which is one of Governance's Core Worlds. If successful, the Ceph would seize a huge chunk of Human space and put Earth directly in the firing line. The impromptu begins with more violence, despair, and destruction like Opus 1, but generally gets more hopeful over time.
