Gene McComb vs Bob Thurman 9-18-82 1st fight

Bob Thurman was the World Light-Middleweight Champion and Gene was the number 1 contender and I believe the US Middleweight Champion at the time. This fight as well as a re-match were fought in the Lake Charles Civic Center in Lake Charles Louisiana.

The re-match ended when Gene could not answer the bell after the 3rd round. Thurman was accused of several illegal low kicks and there was a riot in the Civic Center. I know this because I was there for that fight!!!!
