They are busy with cleaning and preparations to welcome the new year, and today it is time to wash the winter blankets. The yard is full of tubs of water, soap foam, and colorful blankets spread out under the sun. Akram’s children kindly and eagerly help their mother. One washes the blankets, another rinses them, and a third prepares the lines for hanging them to dry. Their laughter and playful teasing make the work more pleasant and take away the fatigue. Seeing her children cooperate, Akram smiles, her heart warmed by their togetherness. At that moment, something unexpected happens. A small hedgehog wanders into the yard from the corner of the farm. The children become excited at the sight of it and gather around carefully. The presence of this tiny, spiky guest brings a joyful and different feeling to their day, creating moments full of wonder and laughter. However, Akram knows that the animal belongs in nature, not with people. Gently, she picks up the hedgehog and carries it to a safe spot at the edge of the farm, near bushes and tall grass, and releases it. The children watch with a little sadness but understand that it is the right thing to do. That day ends not only with hard work, but also with a lesson in kindness toward nature and living creatures.
