Series 8 Blastoise & Coalossal Team! VGC 2021 Pokemon Sword & Shield Competitive Doubles Wifi Battle

Fresh off the heels of Player's Cup III and the Player's Cup IV Qualifiers, we're bringing you a team featuring Coalossal made by a friend of mine, Neil, who was able to qualify for the Player's Cup IV! As you know, once Gigantamax Coalossal is able to get its Steam Engine and Weakness Policy activated, it's hard to stop. The residual damage from Vocalith adds up and makes the game really tough for your opponent as you start picking up knock outs with the fastest Pokemon on the field. Another cool component of this team is that you have an offensive Dragapult that you can catch your opponent off guard with. Typically when you see Dragapult and Coalossal paired together, your opponent will expect a support Dragapult with Surf to activate Coalossal but with this variant, you can Dynamax Dragapult and deal a good amount of damage while your opponent is trying to figure out what to do next. The real support Pokemon on this team is the Blastoise! Blastoise has Aqua Jet to get Coalossal going but can also Yawn your opponent to force a switch in or sleep as well as Helping Hand your partner Pokemon to deal even more damage. To round out the team, you have three big offensive threats that don't need to Dynamax. The first one is Zacian which we all know is the best restricted Pokemon as you can literally slap it on any team and it will thrive. Rillaboom makes an appearance to help out with priority Grassy Glide to get rid of Kyogre. Last but not least, we have Urshifu which I believe will be very common in the upcoming Series 9 to sweep at the end!
