In the electrifying close to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, American figure skater Ilia Malinin delivered a breathtaking and deeply emotional performance during the figure skating exhibition gala captivating the crowd at the Milano Ice Skating Arena.
Known as the "Quad God" for his groundbreaking jumps, Malinin entered the gala under pressure after a disappointing eighth-place finish in the men's singles event, where heavy expectations led to uncharacteristic struggles. Yet, the exhibition—free from competition scoring—allowed him to reclaim the ice on his own terms.
Skating to NF's "FEAR," a track he chose to spotlight mental health struggles, Malinin wore a gray sweatshirt and black jeans, with a hoodie boldly displaying "Fear" upside down.
The routine opened with haunting sounds of notifications and camera clicks, symbolizing overwhelming scrutiny, before evolving into a powerful display of artistry and resilience. He channeled inner demons onto the ice, moving fluidly through signature elements—including quads and a stunning backflip—while conveying raw vulnerability and triumph.
