About the Event and NED
The night began with a special performance from past So You Think You Can Dance contestants and renowned professional dancers and is the brainchild of Dana Baratta (an ovarian cancer survivor) and Melissa Rosenberg who are writer-producers and lifelong friends. In 2013, the friends gathered together a group of committed supporters and the Dancing for NED party was born and raised more than $100,000 for ovarian cancer research and prevention.

NED stands for "No Evidence of Disease," the kind of complete remission that women with ovarian cancer strive to achieve. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Cedars-Sinai Women's Cancer Program, one of the nation's top 10 gynecologic oncology programs. Beth Y. Karlan, MD., director of the program, is a gynecologic cancer surgeon and an internationally renowned expert in the field of women's cancers. Dr. Karlan holds several prestigious appointments including a Professorship with the American Cancer Society, and was a Presidential appointee to the National Cancer Advisory Board of the National Cancer Institute.
