Video transcript: Hey what’s up guys this is Doug from Carson Optical, today I’m going to go over a new addition to our 3D series binoculars, the 3D EDs. The EDs come in an 8x42 and 10x42. These are our most popular sizes as they are very versatile and not too big and not too small. Carson’s 3D EDs binoculars have an amazing image quality and actually help to reduce the effects of chromatic aberration.

What’s chromatic aberration? It sounds confusing but is actually pretty easy to understand. This happens when two colors focus differently. If I was to look at a red wall and the wall was to suddenly turn blue I would actually have to change the focus of my binoculars to get a clear image again. This effect causes a blur between two colors called color fringing.

Here at Carson we wanted to release our own blend of E.D. Glass that would minimize chromatic aberration and give you the best image possible. We designed a patented pending test to prove just how well our Carson ED Glass works. Notice how with standard binoculars become blended where the lines meet. Our ED glass makes the color lines more distinct and minimizes color fringing.

So if you’re looking for great image quality with great contract the Carson 3D EDs are the way to go.

The 42mm binoculars have a great combination of magnification and light transmission capabilities, which make it a great all purpose size. I love the solid feel you get with these binoculars. The thick rubber grips feature specially placed thumb grooves that fit comfortably in your hand.

One thing that amazes me about these binoculars is just how durable they are, I’ve ruined so many pairs of binoculars by getting caught in the rain with them. Water gets trapped inside the glass and it’s difficult to remove without damaging anything but like all of our 3D series models these binoculars are completely waterproof. In addition these binoculars are fully multicoated and the prisms are phase corrected resulting in a clearer brighter image.
