Bulova Open Heart 96A189 Review

I was browsing through, of all places, ShopHQ and found this gem of a watch on clearance. I have a positive opinion of Bulova in both vintage and contemporary watches and, since I have never had an "open heart" style watch, decided it was worth the money - doubly so since they also offered their interest free "Value Pay" option where a credit card is charged in equal monthly installments.

As one can expect, it is powered by a Miyota mechanical automatic movement. In this case, a member of the venerable 8XXX series resides within the all stainless case. I'm not sold on the "open heart" aspect as once you've seen one balance wheel you've seen them all, but at the very least, it doesn't detract from the rest of the watch.
