DESCRIPTION:

Learn how to solve resistive combination circuits in this electrical apprentice tutorial.

What is a Combination Circuit?

A Combination circuit contains both SERIES and PARALLEL circuits. It's also known as a Series-Parallel Circuit.

You solve a combination circuit by breaking the circuit down into a series circuit, adding up total resistance, and finding total amperage (current).

Once total amps are found in a series circuit, you find current for the whole circuit. You can then go back to the combination circuit with all your values and voltage drops.

Just remember that:

SERIES - CURRENT IS THE SAME
PARALLEL - VOLTAGE IS THE SAME

Also.. read your test questions closely.. your teacher sometimes only asks for a certain value, and you can waste a lot of time!
