เฮ้ย! แอปเปิลทำคลิปที่ดูถูกประเทศไทยซะงั้น คลิป "The Underdogs: OOO - Out of Office - Apple at Work" ถ่ายทอดภาพพจน์ของเมืองไทยเหมือนไทยายังเป็นบ้านนอก ด้อยพัฒนายู่ สหรัฐอเมริกาก็ทำตัวเป็นประเทศหรูๆ มีสไตล์ เงินทองใช้จ่ายล้นเหลือ คลิปนี้มีการใช้สเตริโอไทป์และพล็อตเรื่องที่ทำให้ภาพลักษณ์ประเทศไทยดูแย่มาก สามคนที่ไปทำงานถูกๆที่ไทย ช่วยกันดูสิว่าแอปเปิลทำอะไรไปบ้าง ผมจะมาดูเรื่องนี้ผ่านสายตาของคนไทยที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาอังกฤษด้วย

'Woke' Apple just put out a clip that craps all over Thailand's reputation, portraying Thailand with the whole gamut of all the classic negative tropes - like some backward, third-world, dirty country. Meanwhile, the US is shown as a lavish place of style and wealth where westerners go to Thailand to find cheap labour. I look at this clip through both western and Thai eyes to see what is really being portrayed.
