Record Cleaning - part 1: the myths, the theory, the practise unravelled.

Having been an avid record collector for over 40 years, and having worked in the hifi business in many different roles for a similar period I have amassed a varied wealth of experience on record cleaning...

Here I run through my experiences and findings, hopefully unravelling the theory and science of record cleaning, discussing cleaning fluids including distilled water, solvents such as isopropyl alcohol, surfactants / wetting agents / detergents; cleaning machines: vacuum, ultrasonic cavitation, manual and automatic.
