I'm sad to say that these will be my final hours in Tokyo Japan. However this won't stop me from eating at a few more places! The first place we'll be dropping by is Kaede 楓 which is located in Asakusa near the Sensoji Temple. I've visited this place before in a previous video, but I just had to get another one of these before I left! This place makes tasty dango which is like a sweetened mochi.

The next place we'll be visiting is Asakusa Naniwaya 浅草浪花家 which makes some fantastic Japanese desserts like kakigori and taiyaki. This location apparently is apart of a franchise that is known for creating taiyaki which is a fish shaped pastry typically filled with sweetened red bean paste. However I'm here for the kakigori which is japanese shaved ice. This dessert is similar to the korean dessert patbingsoo/bingsoo, taiwanese shaved ice, or even the american snowcone. This place has a english menu so just ask the staff if you need it. They have a nice selection of flavors and there are also seasonal flavors on the menu as well. The two that I got were the Pumpkin and Persimmon kakigori. The ice here was so soft like snow and the flavors of the fruit have a slight sweetness that will fulfill your dessert cravings! This is one of my favorite desserts to eat and the price here for kakigori is cheaper then what I pay back in the U.S. for smaller portions. I highly recommend you dropping by here for dessert if you are in the area!

As we head back I wanted to give you all a tour of the hostel that I stayed at which was Oak Hostel Fuji in Sumida. This place was one of the best hostels that I've stayed at. They have basically anything that you might need from a kitchen, laundry facilities, vending machine, hair dryers, clean showers and bathrooms, and also large lockers. My main worry when traveling and living in a communal space is that someone might steal my stuff. You never know who might be a bad apple unfortunately. The reason why I mainly choose this place is because they have a large locker that was big enough to put 1 large suitcase and my belongings in it. If you have another suitcase it would be outside or under bed. Some hostels have very small lockers and you can't fit all your valuables in it. This hostel is is a great location and the neighborhood is quiet around the area. The bus and train station and Asakusa is also nearby within a 5 min walk. This place was around $17-$21 USD per night when I stayed here which to me was a steal.

Although there are some cons with living in this place is that yes it does feel like you are living in a coffin sometimes. I didn't really spend much time in my room so it didn't bother me, but if you are claustrophobic you may hate it. Another thing is that if you have a noisy/inconsiderate roommate on the top bunk it may be tough sleep if you're a light sleeper. The dryers here are not that great so be prepared to let your clothes cycle for a hour or two in the dryer. I'll probably do a more in depth video on hostels here in Japan and in Seoul, but feel free to ask questions in the comments below if you have questions on this place!

The last place where we are heading too is Tokyo Skytree to grab some dinner before we head out to the airport. This place is pretty huge and I wish I had a bit more time in order to explore, but from what I saw is that there were tons of restaurants and things to do here from visiting the Dome Garden, to the aquarium inside, and there are many family activities that kids would enjoy here. Going up the Tokyo Skytree cost money and will give you a awesome view. However if you don't want to spend the money go outside the 8th floor in the Dome Garden to get a mini view of the city or go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for a free view of the city. I picked a random restaurant to eat at which was Ginza Grill Cardinal on the 7th floor and decided to get omurice. The omurice here was good, but not amazing sadly for my last meal.

I'll be heading to the airport right afterwards and prepare for my next adventure!
