Sticky Plastic on Sunglasses (frame renewal)

Описание к видео Sticky Plastic on Sunglasses (frame renewal)

Warning:
This is not a video tutorial, do not reply. Do not modify your glasses. If you have any problems with them, contact a professional. Don't risk irreparably damaging your glasses, the lenses and frames are very fragile. Alcohol could ruin any anti-reflective treatments (in my case there wasn't one) and abrasives will destroy the lenses (I removed them).

In this video I fix my old sunglasses. The alternative for them is the garbage can, so whatever comes out will be great.
The lenses are in perfect condition and I love them. Sloping browns. This is why I want to attempt to clean the frame of that sticky plastic.
Unfortunately the tortoiseshell finish came off, I imagined it, but underneath there was a beautiful honey-coloured plastic which is why I decided to sand with a fine grain and uncover it all, hoping for a dignified matt finish.
With alcohol I softened the sticky plastic, then, partly with my hands, partly with cotton swabs and toothpicks, I removed the rubbery tortoiseshell finish.
To protect them from sanding I "carefully" removed the lenses :-)
Now I'm specializing in sandpaper finishes :-)
The problem is that if the sunglasses get greasy they shine, but they also did this before, on the matt tortoiseshell finish, so I just need to clean them as I always have.
I like the result a lot, almost more than before. Even if I don't think you're interested, on my face they look better honey-colored than they were before :-)
Bye bye!

Please, leave a like, subscribe and, more important, have a nice day!!
