The second of two comic songs for today, this time by the amazing and astounding Irving Berlin. He was just slightly a little bit of a genius.

Johnson & Shirley (American Dance Bands on Record and Film 1915 – 1942) gives the following personnel for this recording:

Leonard Joy (director); two unknown trumpets, unknown trombone, unknown first saxophone, Jimmy Dorsey (clarinet, alto sax), two unknown violins, unknown piano, unknown piano accordion, unknown banjo, unknown string bass, unknown drums. Johnson and Shirley state that Chick Bullock does the vocal, but the label states that it is Frank Luther (possibly a pseudonym?). Originally released on Victor 22780. Recorded New York, July 29, 1931.
