Описание к видео Artist Talk with Arghavan Khosravi

In conversation with Dr. Gannit Ankori, Henry and Lois Foster Director and Chief Curator, artist Arghavan Khosravi discusses her subversion of the oppressed Muslim woman through her enigmatic works that weave ancient Persian motifs with Surrealist iconography. Drawing inspiration from her experience as a woman living in Iran and a Muslim immigrant to the United States, Khosravi‘s paintings and sculptures provide a powerful voice to the unheard, the unseen, and the forgotten.

This program was held in conjunction with "Arghavan Khosravi: Black Rain," "August 3–October 22, 2023, and is supported by the Ruth Ann and Nathan Perlmutter Artist-in-Residence Award Fund.
