This video gives basic understanding of Modbus serial RTU protocol. Modbus is one of the widely used protocol in automation industry between devices like PLC, SCADA, Controllers etc. The message format of Modbus RTU and various function codes were discussed. Modbus RTU is Master / Slave protocol where the modbus network consists of one master and one or many slaves. The master initiates the Query and slave will give response to the master query. The silent interval of 3.5 char at the start and end of message and 1.5 char time interval discussed. Also the message format of query and response is discussed.
