Overwatch 2 and Blizzard's monetization future...

Overwatch 2's primary focus will no longer be about making money, but rather developing features the developers are truly passionate about? Phil Spencer wants developers to work on projects they enjoy, and doesn't want monetization to be the focus of their games... could this be a turnaround point for Blizzard and Overwatch 2's monetization practises?
