Today, we're talking "Recession Pop", and the roots of this informal yet beloved genre. Typically, recession pop refers to tht electronic dance pop popular in the late 2000s/ early 2020s (think artists like Lady Gaga, Kesha, LMFAO, Britney and the Black Eyed Peas). We'll also talk about House and Disco music, both of which heavily influnced recession pop. And lasty, we'll try to glimpse into the future, and see if the reemergence of disco and house (thanks to artists like Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Drake, and Beyonce), and try to predict what recession pop, if it comes back this decade, might sound like.
