Описание к видео Central Cemetery Walk-2 4k, Almaty, Kazakhstan

One of the most unique walks of mine - through central cemetery of Almaty. Look at this walk at this angle: many left Kazakhstan. It is their chance to see, probably, how their ancestors tombstones look nowadays and to honor their families and passed members of the family. If you find your family - plz text me with your stories, I am really excited to hear your family history.

The cemetery was organized in the late 1920s - early 1930s on lands that previously belonged to the Iversko-Serafimovsky Convent. At the same time, researchers found evidence of the cemetery's foundation in 1932.
Since the 1950s, the cemetery has become one of the central necropolises of the Kazakh SSR with the burial place of the most famous people in the republic - representatives of the party and state leadership, cultural and artistic figures, military personnel and many others.

What significant Tombstone will you see in this part?

Preobrazhensky Boris is the honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1996) and Honored Artist of Kazakhstan. In 1975-1986 he worked at the Irkutsk Regional Theatre for Young Spectators named after Alexander Vampilov. In 1986-2005 he was an artistic director and chief director of the Almaty Russian Theatre for Children and Youth named after N. Sats.

Igor Denisov - a famous Kazakhstani journalist. He can safely be called the founder of KTK news in particular and independent Kazakhstani television journalism in general. In the early 90s, Denisov with a handful of enthusiasts created the first independent news in the country on our channel - TNN.

15 identical German graves without inscriptions; a stele with a plaque; a slab with the names, surnames and dates of life of the buried German War Prisoners. The stele and tombstones are made of granite, both plaques are made of black marble. The inscription on the plaque placed on the stele: "In memory of the German soldiers who found their final resting place in this cemetery far from home." The plaque with the list of names and surnames begins with the words "They rest here."

Next to it, there's a Japanese War Prisoners, who died while in Soviet captivity in 1946–1948. Japanese soldiers were captured by the Soviets at the end of World War II in August-September 1945. In total, about 60 thousand prisoners of war were held in Kazakhstan. Some of them were held in camp No. 40 in Almaty. It is not known exactly how many Japanese died in Kazakhstan in captivity. It is assumed that at least one and a half thousand. There are 145 graves in this cemetery. All the graves and tombstones are identical. There are no inscriptions on them. But the names of the buried soldiers are known, their list is in the Japanese embassy in Astana.

Please add the time points if someone significant is missed.

Enjoy the walk, please like, subscribe, comment - that means a lot to me!
