In 2003, half Chinese photographer Thomas Holton stepped in a cramped Chinese immigrant family's apartment in Manhattan's Chinatown, and ever since then, he has been spending 14 years on documenting this family's life chronically.

His lens witnessed the three children growing up and the father’s moving out of the family home, and himself also got immersed into the family gradually, becoming the Lam family’s sixth member.
