Jace reaches Winterfell and lays out the war; Cregan Stark keeps his eyes north. In winter, his first duty is to the Wall, not King’s Landing—he needs his men where the cold really bites. 

Cregan recalls his father hosting King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne at this very outlook: even their dragons—the greatest power in the world—wouldn’t cross the Wall. Some lines you don’t test.  

Then the question that chills the air: “Do you think my ancestors built a seven-hundred-foot wall of ice to keep out snow and savages?” Jace asks, “What does it keep out?” Cregan answers: “Death.” 

Smash-cut to Game of Thrones S7E7: the Night King on undead Viserion tears open the Wall with blue fire, and an army of the dead floods south—Cregan’s warning made literal.
