This is the River Lyd after some usual heavy rain on the moorland. This river is at the foot of my garden and few yards in front of my front door. This route is used by local children to walk to school and they commonly stop and play here. Although the authorities can allow these necessary safety measures to remain, they say that they do not consider this river to be dangerous!!! Considering the recorded drownings on Dartmoor, is there a hidden agenda to make the Dartmoor National Park Authority want to deny legislation that is available to offer protection to the public and so gamble with peoples lives?
