Marian’s ABSN program spans 16 months. For Margaret, this was very important as she wanted to help fight the nursing shortage as quickly as possible.
“That’s what drew me to this program,” she says. “It’s 16 months and you get to be out in the workforce.”
She also shares details about Marian’s hybrid curriculum, where she receives online instruction and applies it to nursing situations in skills and simulation labs as well as clinicals at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis. Throughout it all, your instructors are always highly accessible.
“It’s awesome that we get to do a lot of work at home, but we also get that hands-on approach in the hospital. We have simulation days where we get to go either to the off-site campus or the main campus and work with simulation material,” she says.
Karen experienced significant personal growth throughout her ABSN journey. She shares that it has taught her, “how to make very tough decisions, how to critically think, how much time and effort and grit it takes to be successful in this program, to be the best that we could be for ourselves and for our patients.”
Karen says she also discovered her purpose and that she was stronger than she ever thought she was.
“Marian has given me opportunity to find my inner self, to find that I am capable of anything that I put time, hard work, and faith into everything that I do,” she says.
