On October 14, 2025, Brussels hosted the European Week of Regions and Cities, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and project teams from across Europe. MOBI-TWIN participated in the session “From Insight to Impact: Leveraging Data-Driven Approaches for Smarter Regional Policy,” alongside sister projects such as RE-PLACE, PREMIUM_EU, and SkillsPULSE, to demonstrate how digital tools can support regional policymaking and address complex regional challenges.

MOBI-TWIN’s dashboard integrates regional development indicators, migration trends, and policy information, enabling policymakers to explore their regions in detail and identify strategies tailored to local realities. During the session, discussions emphasized the common challenges many regions face, including depopulation, housing pressures, and evolving labor market needs. Participants highlighted the importance of flexible tools that can adapt to different administrative levels, update data over time, and remain sustainable beyond the life of a project. Clear interfaces and transparent methodologies were stressed as essential for policymakers to navigate complex data confidently and make informed decisions.

A particularly engaging part of the session focused on cross-regional learning. Policymakers shared experiences and examples from their own territories, discovering surprising similarities in challenges despite differing national contexts.
