After reading the letter, my emotions went all over the place. It gave me answers, but it also provoked so many questions. Unknowingly, the little boy inside my heart was activated, searching for ways to save his mom, to understand her pain.

In the weeks after, I looked for answers everywhere I could. I asked questions to family and others. Sometimes I found pieces of truth or answers, but many times I met silence. That silence was hard to carry, because it left me with the feeling I had to face this journey alone.

That is what “Begging” is about: my soul crying out for answers, for clarity, for peace after reading the letter. It is one of the darkest and deepest tracks on the album, written at a time when I felt hopelessly alone in coping with this new reality of my mom’s pain.

Yet in that loneliness, I discovered something powerful: I could feel, more closely than ever, the same loneliness my mom must have felt. Wanting support, but not finding it. And somehow, that realization connected me more deeply to her.
