'This Present Darkness' by The New Shining is the 1st single from their new album 'Antidote' (release end of summer 2021). 'Antidote' is the 7th studio album of this Dutch 3 piece band.

The band is committed to depression awareness. Leadsinger/songwriter Nax struggled with heavy depressions for 20+ years. By writing music he gives a voice to 'the invisibles', the people that struggle, suffer and fight courageously in silence.

SONG DESCRIPTION
The thick black mist inside your mind. Depression or any mental illness can make you feel lost in darkness, unable to find a way out.

This song is about the misleading voices in your head, telling you lies about who you are and how you (are supposed to) feel.
