The Steve Sinnott Foundation is committed to Education for All Children Everywhere. Despite the challenges of 2020 we have continued to forge new ground and respond to the new challenges children have faced accessing education during the Pandemic.

Here are some of the highlights of our work this year:

• We have kept over 5,000 children learning in The Gambia through the provision of solar radios.

• Our Positive Periods project has had a positive effect on over 60,000 women and girls in Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Cuba.

• Work is nearly complete on our 3rd Learning Resource Centre which is opening in The Gambia in the New year.

• We have sharing learning online through storytelling and setting up the Lifelong Learning webinar series. The partners and teachers we work with are doing amazing work across the globe, and we have been trialling ways to share some of this learning so it’s available to an ever-widening audience. The webinars are carefully selected to support teaching and learning and they also support building business skills, creativity and wellbeing.

• In response to the Global Digital Divide we are working with students at Brunel University and The Gambia Teachers Union to find ways to bring digital opportunities to the classrooms in rural Gambia.

• Literacy support in Kreyol in Haiti and learning packs in Cambodia

• Distributing the Storytelling Learning Resource Packs, Learning in Lockdown Resource, and Fundraising Ideas Resource.

• We have been connecting with a wider audience and sharing our message through digital conferences and events, videos, social media and articles.
