Woes Singapore Band at Baybeats 2021

Woes is a five-piece indie/ math rock band based in sunny Singapore. Weaving intricate twinkly guitar lines over solid dance-like bass riffs and melancholic vocals, Woes uses their music as a channel to reminisce and express daily life struggles. With dance-like rhythms and uplifting yet sorrowful melodies, Woes takes inspiration from bands like Elephant Gym, Jyocho and American Football, while creating their own special flavour and sound.

What started out as a solo project by Russell Seow (bass) evolved into a full-fledged band with the addition of Raizel Gonzales (Vocals), Alex Calaunan (guitars), Aloysius Au (guitars) and Khoo Shen En (drums). With a background of jazz and indie rock, Woes breathes new life into the indie and math rock scene in Singapore, giving their own unique take on these genres. After the successful release of their first EP, Zoodreams, the band strives to expand their sound and create more melancholic music with their newest EP released in May 2020, Wake Up Pls.
