I’ve been fascinated by documenting life ever since I was a kid, inspired by my dad’s habit of recording everything—from birthdays to ordinary moments. Looking back on those home videos now, I get to relive memories I didn’t even know I’d miss. Documenting your life is more than just capturing moments; it’s about preserving the fleeting pieces of time that define us, the growth we experience, and the stories we leave behind.

In this video, I reflect on the importance of documenting life and how it has impacted me personally, especially during my caregiving journey with my grandma. While caring for her, I realized how much I wanted to hold onto every moment, to capture her stories and preserve her legacy. I often think about how incredible it would be to have videos of her younger years to pair with the memories she shared with me.

Documenting is also a way to see our progress—whether in the gym, on a running journey, or through personal growth. It’s a creative outlet that lets us share our experiences, inspire others, and remind ourselves of how far we’ve come. But it’s not without its challenges, like finding the balance between what’s private and what’s meant to be shared. Having a YouTube channel keeps me motivated to finish these stories and turn them into something meaningful.

At the heart of it all, documenting is a gift—to ourselves, our families, and even strangers who might find inspiration in our journeys. Whether it’s capturing milestones or everyday moments, these memories become treasures that last long after the moments have passed.
